To open an application, tutors should sign up at this link.
Skooli holds a high standard for tutor requirements. In addition to creating a strong profile, all tutors are required to verify their application by providing the following documents:
- Government issued photo ID,
- Copy of their highest completed degree or transcripts,
- Copies of any teaching licenses, if applicable (i.e. state/provincial licensure or language qualification such as TEFL), and
- A criminal record check completed within the last 6 months.
If you do not have these documents on hand when you first create your profile, you can always upload them later. The most important action of a new tutor registrant is to complete their tutor profile in full, including adding all grade levels and subjects you are capable of tutoring, as well as all languages you can speak. This can be done under My Profile > My Subjects.
Should you meet the criteria to become a tutor with Skooli, most tutors are contacted via email within a few days of completing the profile to arrange a video interview. During the interview, you will be provided with some additional information about Skooli and the online classroom, in addition to being asked some teaching-related interview questions. Only once you have passed the interview, and had all of your required documents approved, your account will be activated and you will be able to start receiving tutoring requests on our platform.
As with any job, not every application can be accepted. If you are not contacted for an interview right away, however, you may still be contacted based on the current needs of our students. Our team often completes additional onboarding to fill subject- and language-related vacancies on our platform. To give your application the best chance of being reviewed, we encourage you to keep your "My Subjects" section of your profile fully up-to-date (select all relevant grade levels, subjects, and languages) and ensure that your profile is well written and that all details are correct.
